Detailed Introduction：
DC53 is a new type of cold work die steel that improves SKD11, and its technical specifications are specified in Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) G4404. It overcomes the weakness of SKD11's insufficient high-temperature tempering hardness and toughness, and will fully replace SKD11 in the fields of general and precision molds。
DC53 has a higher hardness after heat treatment than SKD11, and can reach 62-63HRC high hardness after high-temperature (520-530 ℃) tempering. In terms of strength and wear resistance, DC53 exceeds SKD11。
The toughness is twice that of SKD11, and the toughness of DC53 is more prominent in cold work die steel. Tools made with DC53 rarely have cracks and fissures, greatly improving their service life。
The residual stress after wire cutting processing is relatively small, and high-temperature tempering reduces the residual stress. Cracks and deformations after wire cutting processing are suppressed。
The cutting and grinding performance exceeds SKD11, while DC53 has better cutting and grinding performance than SKD11. Using DC53 can increase tool and mold life and reduce machining processes。

Practical features：
(1)Good machinability and grindability. Both machinability and grindability are better than SKD11, so the tool life is longer and the processing hours are less。
(2)Advantages in heat treatment. The quenching hardening energy is higher than SKD11, so it can improve the defect of insufficient hardness during vacuum heat treatment。
(3)Advantages of online cutting processing. High temperature tempering can reduce residual stress and eliminate residual austenite, which can prevent the problems of cracking and deformation caused by wire cutting processing。
(4)Advantages in surface hardening treatment. After surface hardening treatment, the surface hardness is higher than SKD11, which can improve the performance of the mold。
(5)Advantages in repairing welding operations. Due to the lower preheating and post heating temperatures compared to SKD11, the repair welding operation is relatively simple。
Nitriding treatment：
After nitriding treatment, the surface of the workpiece obtains a dense hardened layer structure, which significantly improves the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the workpiece. The surface hardness after 525 ℃ gas nitriding treatment is about 1250HV, and the surface hardness after 570 ℃ soft nitriding treatment is about 950HV
