20MnCr5 gear steel
Permeable carbon steel has high strength and toughness, and good hardenability. The performance obtained after heat treatment is better than that of 20Cr. Small quenching deformation, good low-temperature toughness, and good machinability; But the welding performance is low. Generally used after carburizing, quenching or tempering. Used for manufacturing and heavy-duty large section quenched and tempered parts, as well as small section carburized parts. It can also be used to manufacture medium load, low impact small and medium-sized parts, replacing 20CrNi, such as gears, shafts, spindles, friction wheels of variable speed equipment, worms, sleeves of speed controllers, etc.
Characteristics and Scope of Application:
The steel grade introduced from Germany is equivalent to 20CrMn steel in China, which is a type of carburized steel and can also be used as quenched and tempered steel. Good hardenability, small heat treatment deformation, good low-temperature toughness, good cutting performance, but poor weldability. Can be used as carburized parts and quenched and tempered parts with larger cross-sections and higher loads, such as gears, shafts, worms, sleeves, friction wheels, etc

Usage of 20MnCr5:
Manufacture mercury shafts and connecting rods, mercury gears without strong impact loads, mercury water rotors, clutches, bolts for high-pressure vessel cover plates, etc. under high-speed and high bending load working conditions.
