EDM-AF5 is the only graphite electrode material with an average particle size of less than 1 micron in the world, and this structure gives it extremely high strength, minimal machining surface roughness and excellent processing speed. The electrode loss rate is very small. More for more complex connector molds. Can be better used for grinding machine direct processing molding.

Characteristics of graphite:

1. Light weight: the specific gravity is 1/5 of copper, suitable for making large electrodes

2. Good machining performance: cutting resistance is 1/3 of copper

3. The surface is easy to handle: no burrs after machining, easy to handle manually



4. High temperature resistance: When the temperature reaches 3650℃, sublimation gasification can withstand greater current

5. Low coefficient of thermal expansion: 1/4 of copper, and no deformation when heated

6. Fast discharge processing speed: the discharge processing speed is 3 to 5 times that of copper block, and it is more obvious when large-area or rough processing.

7. The electrode loss is small: the ratio with copper is 2:4, which can be non-destructive processing.

Graphite electrode machining method:

1. Cutting tool requirements: sharp, with large front and rear angles and chip slot

2. Tool material: carbide knife coating knife diamond knife

3. Feed speed: roughing 5500~8000 finishing 4000~6000

4. Machine speed: roughing 6500~10000 RPM; Finishing 6000~20000 RPM

5. Processing allowance: roughing 0.6mm; Finish 0.3mm

6. Cutting quantity: the lateral cutting quantity is 1/2~2/3 of the tool diameter, and the depth cutting quantity is 1~1.5 times of the tool diameter

7. Cutting direction: The milling direction is better than the upper cut, and the downward milling is better than the inverse milling
