Standard: JIS G4401
High hardness and wear resistance after quenching and tempering, but low thermal hardness, poor hardenability, easy deformation, plasticity and strength.
Chemical composition:
Carbon C: 0.80 ~ 0.90
Silicon Si: 0.10-0.35
Manganese Mn: 0.10-0.50
Sulfur S: ≤0.030
P: ≤0.030
Chromium Cr: Allowable residual content ≤0.25, ≤0.10(when making lead bath quenched steel wire)
Nickel Ni: Allowable residual content ≤0.20, ≤0.12(when making lead bath quenched steel wire)
Copper Cu: Allowable residual content ≤0.30, ≤0.20(when making lead bath quenched steel wire)
Note: Allowable residual content Cr+Ni+Cu≤0.40(when making lead bath quenched steel wire)
Mechanical properties:
Hardness: Annealed,≤187HB, indentation diameter ≥4.40mm; Quenched,≥62HRC
Typical application examples:
1. Used for die parts requiring high hardness and wear resistance due to sliding grinding, such as guide pins, bushings, ejector pins, etc.
2, processing wood with blade tools, cold heading die, scraper, file.
