8Cr17 stainless steel
Characteristics and Scope of Application:
In the hardened state, 8Cr17 stainless steel is harder than 7Cr17 but has higher toughness than 11Cr17. Used as cutting tools and valves.
● Chemical composition:
Manganese Mn: ≤ 1.00
Sulfur S: ≤ 0.030
Phosphorus P: ≤ 0.035
Chromium Cr: 16.00-18.00
Nickel Ni: allowed to contain ≤ 0.60
Molybdenum Mo: can be added with ≤ 0.75
● Mechanical properties:
Hardness: annealed, ≤ 255HB; Quenching and tempering, ≥ 56HRC
Heat treatment specifications and metallographic structure:
Heat treatment specifications: 1) Annealing, slow cooling at 800-920 ℃; 2) Quenching, oil cooling at 1010-1070 ℃; 3) Tempering, rapid cooling at 100-180 ℃.
Metallographic structure: The structural characteristics are martensitic.
Delivery status: Generally delivered in a heat-treated state, with the type of heat treatment specified in the contract; Unless otherwise specified, delivery shall be made in the non heat treated state.
