Alloy 600 belongs to the nickel chromium high-temperature resistant base alloy and is non-magnetic. It has excellent mechanical properties and stress corrosion cracking ability in sub zero, room temperature, and high temperature environments, and is therefore widely used in cooling systems of nuclear reactors, with considerable resistance to organic acids. It is also widely used in the processing of fatty acids. This alloy also has the ability to resist corrosion from reducing, oxidizing, and nitriding media, as well as dry chlorine and chloride gas corrosion.
